Diverting from the “no dribbles” theme but maintaining the 1 on 1 aspect, Kobe showcases his usage of two dribbles to create midrange pulls. Contrasting from one dribble yanks, two pounds allows him a greater separation opportunity as the defender is forced to guard beyond one stride. It’s important to note that Kobe does this when appropriate, he doesn’t take a second dribble unless the floor spacing permits it.
Whether right, left, baseline or middle, the direction he heads is always weak-side, or to an area of the court thats open and without impeding defenders - 1:13, 2:28, 3:06, 5:10, 5:52....
